Pale has the rock n roll ideal: the moxie and evolving know-how to get noticed in a business that gives less and less opportunity to new talent. Pale is trying to find the rock n roll spirit again. - Michael Clark, music editor, Houston Chronicle.

Calvin Stanley created Pale in late 1997 after leaving his previous group Ex Nihilo. His desire was a new direction and a definitive sound all of his own where the ultimate goal was to write and record albums of a timeless quality.

Working as a one-man band, Stanley released two Pale projects in 1997 (Saferfell and Separation), which created quite the buzz. Compelled to support the releases throughout Texas, he put together a group of musicians to perform live as Pale for over 200 shows. After two years honing those live performances, he once again felt the urge for progression and immediately set out to write and record Pale s next release, High Up and Away. This was a serious rock album full of honest emotions and epic songs, the kind of music he grew up listening to.

High Up and Away was released nationally and supported by two tremendous showcases at SxSW in Austin. A slew of media interest and inclusion on many national and international compilations placed Pale in a new light. Their shows have ranged from small venues to opening for the likes of Depeche Mode, Roger Waters, and Frank Black. These doors have opened for one reason only: Pale has developed a reputation for being the hottest live act in the region. They put on a great show, reminiscent of an early Cure or U2 definitely a major label prospect. David Katznelson, former VP for Warner Brothers.

After several line-up changes, Calvin Stanley has found the pieces of the puzzle that fit in band mates Robb Moore (guitar), Stephen Wesson (bass), and Travis Middour (drums). The chemistry they bring has taken the music to a more progressive stance and with these powerful additions to the band, this will surely be the next definitive voice in rock music.

Pale has created a unique position for themselves in rock n roll through extremely hard work and perseverance. A gorgeous balance of passion and melody, Pale maintains a highly original sound with a classic sense of the song. Rock n roll will always return to honest songwriting, and Pale is prepared to stepforward to the front lines of today s music.
